Tourism  -  the Normandy

From Caen to Ouistreham, a nautical area to discover together

From the Saint-Pierre Basin to the seaside resort of Ouistreham-Riva-Bella and its marina, the 14 kms of canal and Orne River offer a privileged leisure site where the water and nature enthusiasts can initiate themselves into different domains and practise their favourite activities.

Combining the pleasures of sailing and the discovery of historic and archichectural heritage is another charm of this area: at the seaside, Ouistreham offers a view on the Landing Beaches and the English coasts; in the heart of Caen, the marina offers a real haven of peace, close to the old parts of the town, and only a few minutes away from the "Norman Switzerland".

Caen

The charm works at first sight. City of William the Conqueror, Caen has kept his castle and his two abbeys, remarkable archichectural heritage from the twelfth century. In times past, the canals shaped the maze of its streets and picturesque areas. In the heart of the Battle of Normandy, Caen nowadays shows its commitment to Peace, thanks to the Mémorial which emphasizes the stake in liberty and human rights. "green city", Caen offers the privileges of country in the city with its numerous parcs and gardens such as the Prairie. You will find many good restaurants: sea and local specialities, cheeses made with unpasteurized milk, alcohols and delicacies are offered in many of these restaurants.
